A day to be thankful.....

Oh my goodness....it is already Thanksgiving time and I do not know where the time has gone this year. I shall wake up in the morning and prepare a visit to my daughter's home to spend time with family and take my sweet potato casserole which seems to be everyones' favorite.
I am ready for a rest. Even if just for one day! Then Friday when ten o'clock rolls around and I come out to unlock the door to Pumpkin House Primitives I hope to meet a crowd of shoppers who can not live without a primitive candle or cupboard or some other earthly treasure to buy for a gift or to adorn their country homes.
The season so far has been a good one. I rejoice at that because I have seen God's blessings evident this entire year. I know new faces are coming because of the interstate signage and that was a good decision for me to make last fall. Yes, and expensive one, but one that has payed off for me.
This is something I enjoy doing. I always have since my hubby and I opened Pumpkin House almost 15 years ago. Of course then we called the shop Whispering Wisteria House but I had to change the name when I put the sign up. I was told that the name had to get their attention in a split second as they were driving on the interstate. It has indeed? But it helps because the exterior of the house and business are painted a wonderful pumpkin color. We choose that probably 4 years ago after watching a program on HGTV. There was an old saltbox house in New England painted almost this color built in the late 1600's. I could not believe the color they chose but it stayed in my head and I told my James I would love to paint our house that color some day.
He agreed and the rest is history.
As I bring this first post on my new blog to an end I wish each of your a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with your family and be sure to check back for more posts from the Pumpkin Queen.
Hugs. Patty
